DAY 1 :
ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE  NATIONAL PARK TO  KARATU

In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and we’ll head to the Tarangire National Park. This park is particularly well-known for the abundance of ancient Baobab trees and has the highest concentration of elephants in Tanzania. The park is also home to lions, cheetah, leopards and herbivores such as giraffes, wildebeest and zebras. We will also visit the beautiful Tarangire River picnic site for lunch and enjoy the beautiful view of the river. Hopefully a family of elephants will come to the river during the heat of the day. After lunch we will continue our journey leaving Tarangire National Park stopping at Lake Manyara Viewpoint to enjoy an incredible view of the lake and its famous flamingos. We then head to our overnight accommodation at Karatu where we will have dinner and a good night’s sleep at either the  Marera Lodge or Bougainvillea Lodge.

Meals: lunch, dinner

DAY 2:
KARATU TO SERENGETI
NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast we head to the Serengeti National Park. It’s a six-hour journey and we'll pause as we enter the reserve so you can get your first glimpse of the Ngorongoro Crater. Serengeti actually means “endless plains” in Swahili. The Serengeti covers an area of 14,763 square kilometres and watching the grassland stretching out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is absolutely breathtaking. The Serengeti is home to hundreds of thousands of animals and is a pristine and unique sanctuary. It is also home to the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard) as well as Africa’s most beautiful animal – the impala. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. Your first game drive in the Serengeti will take place in the late afternoon and where you'll experience the famous Serengeti sunset. As night falls, we might get lucky to find a predator hunting or on a kill. We'll then head to Seronera campsite/ lodge for the night.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY 3:
SERENGETI  NATIONAL PARK TO NGORONORO

A full day with morning and afternoon game drives to explore the plains of the famous Serengeti National Park. Serengeti actually means “endless plains” in Swahili. The Serengeti covers an area of 14,763 square kilometres and watching the grassland stretching out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is absolutely breathtaking. After lunch at a picnic site, we'll visit the Ngorongoro Crater and overnight on the crater’s edge and enjoy the fantastic view as the sun goes down.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY 4:
FULL DAY
NGORONGORO CRATER

After a very early breakfast, we’ll make the 600-metre descent in a 4WD vehicle into the Ngorongoro Crater often referred to as Africa’s Eden and the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera and measures 22.5 kilometres across and a massive floor of about 260 square kilometres with rim walls that stand 600 metres high. Views from within the crater and from the rim are breathtaking. The crater houses 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds and is home to black rhino, cheetah, lion, leopard, elephant, wildebeest, zebra and birds like ostrich, vultures and flamingos. Keep your camera at the ready as the crater will show you plenty of animal action.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY 5:
NGORONGORO CRATER
LAKE EYASI TO ARUSHA

Today after breakfast we visit the Hadzabe Bushmen and Datoga tribe residing at Lake Eyasi. This is one of the few places remaining in Africa where tribal life is still maintained relatively untouched by the development of the region. The Hadzabe people have called Lake Eyasi home for more than 10 000 years, and still retain their hunter gatherer lifestyle; making them one of the last bastions of ancient African tribal life. This visit offers a unique and unforgettable glimpse into an ancient culture. You will be able to observe an early morning hunting display, honey gathering and traditional dances.

After lunch it’s the long drive back to Arusha. We will drop you off at your hotel in Arusha by 18:00. After this incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, it is time you bid your safari team goodbye.
