Itinerary 

DAY 1 :
ARRIVAL IN ZANZIBAR
TO STONE TOWN

Welcome to the beautiful island of Zanzibar. On your arrival you will be met by one of our representatives who will supervise your transfer to Stone Town to the Dhow Palace Hotel . Take in the sights and aromas of the old city, a UNESCO heritage site and cultural heart of the island. Here you have time to relax at the your hotel in the epicentre of Stone Town or as the sun starts to set, join the locals at the beachfront cafes and restaurants.

DAY 2:  
STONE TOWN AND SURROUNDS

The day kicks off after breakfast with a comprehensive guided tour of Stone Town. Experience the rich history and unique architecture of the city before heading to the bustling markets, alleys and the former slave market. Lunch will be for your own account and we recommend you experience the food from a street vendor or food market.  After lunch, we will head into the surrounding countryside to the Kizimbani Village where we will visit a spice plantation. Here you will be welcomed by the rich aroma of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.

We’ll stop off at the Jozani Forest which is the last remaining habitat of the rare endemic Red Colobus Monkey.  A local guide will accompany you on a walk through the Jozani Chwaka National Park to see this rare monkey. To get a real feel of the forest, you can also follow the boardwalk through the mangrove ecosystem. We’ll head back to Stone Town and the Dhow Palace Hotel for the night.

DAY 3:
STONE TOWN TO PEMBA

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch a flight to Pemba Island. Pemba Island is part of the Zanzibar Archipelago and is known for its lush, green hills and clove plantations. The Pemba Channel, with its coral reefs and abundant marine life, separates the island from mainland Tanzania. The main town, Chake Chake, has a ruined 18th-century fort with a museum. Offshore, Misali Island is home to the Fischer's Turaco, a colourful rare bird.  For the next few nights on Pemba, we will be staying at the Misali Sunset Resort.

DAYS 4-6:
PEMBA ISLAND 
 

Each morning enjoy a full breakfast and thereafter the day is your own.  You can take a stroll down the beach, head out on a snorkelling excursion or a have a romantic lunch on your private sandbank, “Infinity Island”.  This is a must for couples looking to do something different. You can visit small scale farming communities and villages or spend your days scuba diving or deep-sea fishing.

DAY 7:
PEMBA TO STONE TOWN
 

Celebrate your last day on Pemba by taking an early morning walk on the white sand beach and take some photos in the morning light.  After breakfast, we’ll take a flight back to Zanzibar and Stone Town where you will overnight once again at the Dhow Palace Hotel. You will have time to enjoy a cocktail while admiring the sunset, walk along the shore, or simply read a book while you take in the local atmosphere.

DAY 8:
STONE TOWN TO AIRPORT 
 

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to this magical island and with loads of sun-drenched memories, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the mainland.
